Some are directly my choice and some are indirectly so. Read on, please. ## World Changes There is ongoing upheaval in the USA and across the world. Democracy no longer exists in this country and that is only one of many endings that await us. Changes so vast affect every human being in their path. As always, my sensitivity to world events is impacting me in conscious and unconscious ways. Though I continue to hope for a better humankind, the foundation of that hope feels like it has far less to stand on these days. I rely on my in-person interactions give me a sense of who we could be. ## Personal and Family Life I’m older. That’s one of the changes in my life. Its impact is more noticeable each day. We have grandchildren. I find such a joy in seeing them grow, laugh, and express interest in nature, music, physical activity, and more. At the other end of life, my spouse and I are fortunate to have parents alive. Mine are thousands of miles away. Hers are local and about to become more so. We care about our families and that care requires time and attention. This is beautiful in one sense and yet demanding as well. Caring for those we love is a wonderful part of being human. And it can impact all aspects of our lives. ## Project Changes So, I’m once again shifting my music project priorities. First, that folk song album. It’s on hiatus at least until after I retire from one of my jobs. Years ago when I started this project, it was a deep calling. All the changes in my life and world mean that it no longer has the same heart connection. Equally, there is no time to give it the focus it requires. Instead, I’m working on two other music composition frameworks. I’ve built up a virtual band (templates in my DAW) for each of them and have a few compositions started for each one. I’m not quite ready to share about one of these. But the one that is likely to be completed first, I will create using instruments from Persia.
