Saw question about what to do when you take over #dev #codebase. A few tips:
- The db: all important data is there
- architecture diagrams- often outdated but they give an idea
- socialize/ make friends with whoever uses it if around. I used to have chocolate at my desk at all times
Good #programmers will tell you that good code is written to be understood by #humans. Anyone who has maintained a large #codebase will understand that.
This takes that idea back to the Specification, noting that #code is a product of the #spec.
