Environmental Groups Sue EPA For Illegal Repeal of Climate Protections Today, environmental groups and Alaskan tribes sued the Trump administration’s Environmental Protection Agency for unlawfully repealing the endangerment finding and motor vehicle emissions standards. The EPA’s 2009 endangerment finding is the scientific determination that greenhouse gas pollution harms public health and welfare. If allowed to stand, the repeal would abandon climate action at the federal level. The case was brought by: Alaska Institute for Justice, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Chinik Eskimo Community, Native Village of Kwinhagak, Native Village of Nunapitchuk, Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York, WE ACT, West Virginia Highlands Conservancy, and Wyoming Outdoor Council, represented by Earthjustice, Hoosier Environmental Council, Illinois Environmental Council, Iowa Environmental Council, Minnesota Environmental Partnership, and Ohio Environmental Council, represented by Environmental Law & Policy Center, and Food & Water Watch, representing itself. “EPA is choosing to abandon its core mandate to protect human health and the environment at the expense of communities,” said Hana Vizcarra, Deputy Managing Attorney at Earthjustice. “EPA cannot rewrite the law in order to ignore the very real harms impacting communities across the country. Earthjustice and our partners will continue to defend the rule of law and demand that EPA focus on protecting our health and environment, not boosting...

EPA, FBI, CISA, NSA Issue Joint Cybersecurity Advisory to Water System Regarding Iranian ... April 7, 2026 WASHINGTON – U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and National Security Agency (NSA) issued a joint advisory warning to U.S. organizations, including those in the water sector, for an urgent and ongoing Iranian-affiliated cybersecurity threat. U.S. organizations are experiencing exploitation and, in some cases, disruption of commonly used operational technology at drinking water and wastewater systems that are diligently working to ensure that Americans can rely on clean and safe water. “Cybersecurity threats are a serious concern for our nation’s water infrastructure, including the communities, businesses, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure sectors that rely on these critical lifeline services,” said EPA Assistant Administrator for Water Jess Kramer. “Water systems are encouraged to stay informed and work to adopt cybersecurity best practices.” “Cyberattacks on drinking water and wastewater systems directly threaten public health and community resilience. A single breach can disrupt treatment or introduce contaminants, damage equipment, and erode public trust, said EPA Assistant Administrator for Enforcement and Compliance Assurance Jeffrey A. Hall. “EPA enforcement safeguards our nation’s critical infrastructure, including water systems, by ensuring compliance with applicable safety, maintenance, resilience, and security requirements and by rapidly...

EP- 247| Omega 3 & Hidden Inflammation Explained Simply — ইনফ্লামেশন কী? সহজ ভাষায় জানুন | wellness podcast          STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR INFLAMATION GUIDELINES: - Inflammation means there is a hidden “fire” inside the body. ইনফ্লামেশন মানে শরীরের ভিতরে একটি লুকানো “আগুন” জ্বলছে। - This fire can start because of too much junk food, sugar, stress, lack of sleep, and too much oily food. এই আগুন শুরু হতে পারে বেশি জাঙ্ক ফুড, চিনি, স্ট্রেস, কম ঘুম এবং বেশি তেল-মশলাযুক্ত খাবারের কারণে। - When this hidden fire stays for a long time, the body starts giving warning signs. যখন এই লুকানো আগুন অনেকদিন থাকে, তখন শরীর কিছু সংকেত দিতে শুরু করে। - Common signs are: সাধারণ লক্ষণগুলো হলো: - Tired all the time = সবসময় ক্লান্ত লাগে - Mouth sores = মুখে ঘা হয় - Belly fat = পেটে মেদ বাড়ে - Joint pain = হাঁটু বা শরীরে ব্যথা হয় - Brain fog = মাথা ঝাপসা লাগে, কিছু মনে থাকে না - Poor sleep = ঘুম ভালো হয় না - Omega-3 works like water on this fire. It helps calm the body slowly. ওমেগা-৩ এই আগুনের উপর পানির মতো কাজ করে। এটি ধীরে ধীরে শরীরকে শান্ত করে। - Omega-3 can help reduce: ওমেগা-৩ কমাতে সাহায্য করতে পারে: - Body pain = শরীরের ব্যথা - Tiredness = ক্লান্তি - Stress and anger = স্ট্রেস ও রাগ - Brain fog = মাথা ঝাপসা ভাব - Belly fat = পেটের মেদ - Foods with Omega-3: ওমেগা-৩ আছে এমন খাবার: - Fish = মাছ - Walnuts = আখরোট - Flaxseed = তিসি বীজ - Chia seed = চিয়া বীজ Step-by-Step Guide / ধাপে ধাপে করণীয় step 1: Stop feeding the “fire” ধাপ ১: শরীরের “আগুন” বাড়ায় এমন খাবার কমান - Less junk food = জাঙ্ক ফুড কম খান - Less sugar = চিনি কম খান - Less cold drinks = ঠান্ডা পানীয় কম খান - Less fried food = ভাজা খাবার কম খান Step 2: Add Omega-3 every day ধাপ ২: প্রতিদিন ওমেগা-৩ খান - 1 spoon flaxseed = ১ চামচ তিসি বীজ - 2–3 walnuts = ২–৩টি আখরোট - Fish 2–3 times a week = সপ্তাহে ২–৩ দিন মাছ খান Step 3: Drink more water ধাপ ৩: বেশি পানি পান করুন - 6–8 glasses every day = প্রতিদিন ৬–৮ গ্লাস পানি পান করুন Step 4: Sleep on time ধাপ ৪: সময়মতো ঘুমান - Sleep before 11 PM = রাত ১১টার আগে ঘুমান - Sleep 7–8 hours = ৭–৮ ঘণ্টা ঘুমান Step 5: Walk every day ধাপ ৫: প্রতিদিন হাঁটুন - Walk 20–30 minutes = ২০–৩০ মিনিট হাঁটুন Step 6: Wait patiently ধাপ ৬: ধৈর্য ধরুন - Small changes every day give big results after 2–6 weeks. - প্রতিদিন ছোট পরিবর্তন ২–৬ সপ্তাহ পরে বড় ফল দেয়। Final Message / শেষ কথা: Your body is not weak. It is only asking for help. আপনার শরীর দুর্বল নয়। এটি শুধু সাহায্য চাইছে। Eat better, sleep better, walk more, and take Omega-3 foods regularly. Slowly the hidden fire inside your body will become less. ভালো খাবার খান, ভালো ঘুমান, হাঁটুন এবং নিয়মিত ওমেগা-৩ খাবার খান। ধীরে ধীরে শরীরের ভিতরের লুকানো আগুন কমে যাবে।

EPA Designates Microplastics, Pharmaceuticals as Priority Contaminants U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin announced new initiatives to tackle microplastics in the human body and drinking water Thursday. Kennedy said the government will create a new $144 million program called STOMP, for the systematic targeting of microplastics. “We are focusing on three questions, what is in the body, what’s causing harm, and how do we remove it?” Kennedy said. Zeldin said the the environmental agency will add microplastics and pharmaceuticals to its list of concerning chemicals in drinking water. “For the first time in the program’s history, EPA is designating both microplastics and pharmaceuticals as priority contaminant groups,” he said. The two cabinet members sat at a table in front of a crowded room at EPA headquarters in Washington, D.C. with microplastic researchers, including Marcus Ericsson, an environmental scientist and co founder of the anti-plastic Five Gyres Institute, Matthew Campin, a biomedical scientist at the University of New Mexico, and Leo Trasande, a pediatrician and public policy expert at New York University’s Grossman School of Medicine and Wagner School of Public Service. On either side of the table were two large posters that said “Confronting Microplastics”...

U.S. EPA announces action on microplastics, but Michigan critics say it's not enough The federal government announced a new $144 million program to study microplastics and the risks they pose to human health. But some environmental groups say the action isn't aggressive enough.

The #US #EPA announced that it will designate #microplastics as contaminants of concern and will allocate funds to microplastics research. The new designations do not take any steps towards monitoring microplastic levels in #drinkingwater.

EPA on toxic Portsmouth site, ODU conducts safety review, Artemis II returns: Sunrise Brief The Environmental Protection Agency is hosting a public meeting to address ongoing concerns and recent discoveries at the Peck Iron and Metal Superfund site in Portsmouth. EPA to hold public meeting on toxic Portsmouth Superfund site after explosives and radium discovered The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, at 6:15 p.m. at Portsmouth City Hall. Located at the end of the South Norfolk Jordan Bridge and fenced off with a danger sign, the site was originally used for processing scrap metal from military bases. It has been on the EPA's National Priority Superfund list since November 2009. Around 2019, EPA assessments found the soil highly contaminated with carcinogenic chemical compounds and heavy metals, including cobalt and lead. "Anytime, we have flooding, heavy rains, which we experience, often now, that's going to move those, those contaminants are mobile," Lisa Renee Jennings with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation said. The EPA is now preparing a Focused Feasibility Study to assess if the original remedy issued in 2023 for the on-site soils and sediments is still appropriate. The site's history and unknown long-term health risks have raised concerns for neighbors in the nearby Cradock neighborhood. When it comes to human health risk, Jennings...

ICYMI: EPA Takes Bold, Historic MAHA Action on Microplastics, Pharmaceuticals, and ... WASHINGTON – On Thursday, April 2, 2026, alongside U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert Robert F. Kennedy Jr., U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin announced landmark, coordinated actions to address microplastics contamination, one of the most urgent and growing public health challenges facing Americans. For the first time in agency history, EPA is including microplastics as a priority contaminant group in its draft Sixth Contaminant Candidate List (CCL 6), and is now holding a public comment period on it. CCL 6 also includes pharmaceuticals as a group—another first—along with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), disinfection byproducts, 75 individual chemicals, and nine microbes that may be present in public drinking water systems. Thursday’s announcement, made at a press conference at EPA headquarters, represent a major step forward in President Trump’s commitment to Make America Healthy Again. Environmental Defense Fund: EPA Moves To Weaken Rule To Reduce Methane Emissions From Oil & Gas Operations The changes are designed to save the industry over $208 million a year in compliance costs. EPA said the final rule responds to several petitions for reconsideration and feedback from industry. Among the changes, EPA pointed to changes in requirements for flaring natural gas. EPA said the 2024 Final Rule phased out routine flaring of associated natural gas from new sources, but allowed owners and operators to perform temporary flaring for up to 24 hours in maintenance situations. However, serious concerns were raised that this limited time frame did not provide enough time for owners and operators to troubleshoot and repair equipment, putting energy reliability for American families and the safety of workers at risk. Under the Trump EPA’s revisions, owners and operators will now be able to utilize temporary flaring for up to 72 hours. [Under Pennsylvania regulations, shale gas well bores are only required to be located 500 feet from the nearest homes. DEP has issued permits for 24,555 shale gas wells in the state, as of March 27, 2026] The Biden EPA’s final rule also required continuous monitoring of the net heating value (NHV) of vent gas from flares and enclosed combustion devices (ECD). Based on data...
