A flatworm of the Planarian class. Probably a Dugesia species. This is a darkfield photo, where the subject (the flatworm) is illuminated but the background is dark. The head is basically triangle shape, and its eyespots near the base of the head make the flatworm look cross-eyed. The worm's digestive system is refracting more light, so is readily visible as a branching structure behind the head.

Top-down closeup of Prostheceraeus moseleyi against a black background. As the name "flat worm" suggests, it is indeed very flat. (This individual was not even 1mm thick, while being about 1cm in length) It has a white base colour with black spots throughout. The margin is yellow. The head has two dark purple flappy thingies, sticking up like feelers. I have no idea, sadly, what they are called. Barely visible on the photos and between the flaps are many tiny black pigment-spots which serve as eyes.
It's my first #InverteFest! 🥳
To celebrate, here is a flat worm "dressed" for the occasion! Very colourful. Very pretty. Very dragonfruit. :)
Prostheceraeus moseleyi typically feeds on Ascidians, and is found in rocky habitats.
