“The Book of Hearth Magic” - A found object sculpture of natural materials put into corked glass bottles (some vintage) and rocks set into a 11.5x4 inch open front box (a repurposed storage container) with three shelves. The translucent textured back is painted with purple stained glass paint mixed with gloss, and the bamboo box sprayed with splashes of iridescent gold. The bottles are assorted sizes and shapes, most tubes, none larger than 2.25 inches. They are filled with ethically collected natural objects, including bone, feathers, lizard egg shells, insects, a small paper wasp nest, a hatched monarch butterfly chrysalis, a cicada wing, a pressed four leaf clover, and quartz rick. More quartz rocks are set on the shelves between the bottles. The box is photographed with light behind it, to show the purple light.
