‘Hiding from the Dark’: New ‘Star Wars’ Horror Middle Grade Novel Revealed as Part of Lucasfilm’s Genre Initiative Earlier this year, an untitled listing appeared online, signaling the arrival of a _Star Wars_ horror-themed book. Now, we know what it is. Courtesy of the sleuth work over at r/starwarsbooks (h/t White_Doggo), _Hiding from the Dark: A Star Wars Horror Novel_ by Kiersten White will hit shelves on September 1. The book’s subtitle all but confirms that it will be part of Lucasfilm’s new genre initiative, which begins on July 21 with Ashley Poston’s _Eyes Like Stars_. The book has been listed as “a Star Wars romance novel,” which lines up with how _Hiding from the Dark_ is positioning itself. As we are still in the “officially unannounced” phase of this book’s life cycle, the title may look slightly different as we get closer to release. The synopsis of the book from Random House reads: > **Venture beyond the dark side in this chilling horror-themed middle grade novel based on the Star Wars galaxy.** > > Haunted by an evil presence, a young girl tries to solve a nightmarish mystery.
