Male mallard duck, with feathers missing at base of his neck, the result of mating battles with other male ducks.
Douglas, 1 year ago, almost to the day, while still in the throes of forming his thruple. It took some doing, and the loss of most of his breast feathers. But they've all grown back, & the 3some has lasted so far. Doug's bigger than the other male, he doesn't seem to be the dominant one.
