One of this year's joys was learning about the weirdness that are #Mayflies eyes. Some male mayflies have "turbinate" eyes or basically a third type of eye that look like hats above their other eyes that look upwards.

Okay, so mayflies are tricky! I think the first photo (same as in my video) shows a female Pale watery (Baetis fuscatus), the next two with the yellow 'eyes' are male Pale watery mayflies, & the third might be a male Small dark olive (Baetis scambus). Happy to be corrected! #mayflies
