The Sound from the Train
A portrait orientation view from a pier looking along the shoreline of a long beach as small waves are breaking along its length. It's a bright, warm, sunny day, late in the afternoon. The sky is clear except for some bubbling white clouds on the horizon over a mountain landscape both low and faded with the distance. The beach is to our right and is sandy but dark, more brown than golden. It's shallow in depth back to the treeline of palms and other bushes and it's only sporadically occupied by a few people mostly standing on the sand where waves have rolled in and damped them down. Some bits of flotsam in the form of logs can be seen at the tide line and there are some pop-up gazebos on the beach and further back under the shade of the trees. The water is cloudy with the sand it's churning up but looks warm and inviting.
For #MeerMittwoch from our visit there last month this is the view from the pier at Puntarenas, Costa Rica looking along the beach. The peaceful Pacific is still nevertheless churning up the sand while the locals enjoy a little bit of respite from the high heat […]

Either side of the conning/communications tower atop the bridge forward of the deck are yellow sections (no idea what). The sun is just about to set over a calm sea. A bubbling of clouds near the horizon obscures the sun a little, smearing it out into a soft orange glow with that same warm tone reflecting off the clouds that dot the sky above. The other colours in the view are mostly warm greys from a hazy sky with most of its blue tones drained by the coming of the end of the day reflected on the textured but flat water. On the right side of the view we can see a wooden balcony railing leading forward along the cruise ship we're on and there's an overhang above us too leading the eye towards the sunset.

We're on a cruise ship looking across still sea towards the land we're approaching. The sky is bright blue and cloudless with the water a darker shade of relaxing blue beneath. We're mainly looking at a large rocky promontory jutting up from the sea with some clear layers of rocky strata angled on it. A few smaller islets are visible, some seemingly chalk.
Just docking at our penultimate port of call on this cruise. This is Mazatlán and our plan here today is to walk around and explore as much as we can until such time as some craft ale bars open and we can try the local beers.
