A lovely Emperor moth in the trap this morning - a first time for 2026, as well as three other species new for this year. She laid eggs on the egg box and so it is now tucked into a hawthorn hedge to feed the youngsters.

Here are the Pugs. Relatively confident with Double-striped and Oak-tree. The Common Moth not so sure. The book said it flew in May so a bit early. I am a bit embarrassed by my Pug identification skills. This Common I had identified as a Brindled but checked it and Obs said Common #teammoth
