Funnily there is a lot of lost media from internet tie-ins.

The earliest genre show with internet tie-in media I've found is 1997's #TheVisitor. Each ep had a prior webisode with new material of seemingly 1 minute duration(?). The OG website can be found but the (QuickTime?) videos are gone.
