Looking upward at the slender, concrete, Auckland SkyTower. The sky is bright blue and almost cloudless.
Shaped like a Vostok launcher it may be, but I won't be riding the SkyTower on a parabolic trajectory home. It's the bus and a plane (B737-800) for me. #TravelDay

Another #TravelDay, with a quick trans-Tasman hop to get some legals sorted. Taking a later flight than usual, which afforded the time to do a gym and pool session. Back on the weights after a 3 week break was hard, but felt the better for it. Same for #swimming - which is what I'll do in AKL.
*sigh* big couple of hours of post #TravelDay activities: collecting the cat from the cattery, a QVM replenishment shop (fridge was empty), unpacking... Still a bit more laundry to do; and a bunch of admin. Then I get to do it all over again on a two-day turnaround. Good to be home though.
Phase III of #TravelDay - flight mode engaged. Time to jet.

Phase II of #TravelDay in full effect: check-in, customs and immigration cleared, duty free liquor supplies secured (there is #whisky)... time for #lounging before we jet. Sad to be leaving 日本, but looking forward to being home again.

A cafe take-out window in the ticket gate area of Shimbashi station. There is a person wearing a puffer jacket ordering coffee at the window. Overhead signage points to station platforms and the sign above thw take-out window reads: Saza Coffee.
Phase I of #TravelDay completed. A leisurely stroll around Hibiya Park, then a last #coffee at Saza. Yamanote Sen to Nippori, and now aboard the SkyLiner bound for Narita T2.
It’s gonna be a long day as I’m waiting to fly back home from FL. And, I teach at 5:00pm PST. Hopefully, I can catch a nap. #TravelDay #ProfessorLife #Backtoreality
A Japanese meal set on a black tray, comprising of: a bowl of rice, a small bowl of pickled cabbage, a bowl of miso soup and a dish with shredded cabbage and boiled beef.
Another #TravelDay started with what's becoming our go-to breakfast joint. The various teishoku at a Matsuya (a chain) are insanely cheap, but a good substantial start to the day. Rice, pickles, a protein, miso soup, etc is hard to go past: especially at 400-500¥ (AUD $4-5).
