A crowd of 12,000 fans at Redruth RFC watched Cornwall draw 3-3 with Gloucestershire in October 1949. Cornwall were leading until the final minutes, when a monster drop-goal taken two yards inside the Cornish half spoilt the party. Image from the Cornishman, 13 Oct 1949. #Cornwall #Kernow #Cornish

The pectoral cross from the #Viking #Galloway #Hoard found in 2014 and dated to AD900. This Christian cross is possibly #Pictish. It is silver with inlaid gold in the #Cornish Trewhiddle style. The animals represent 3 of the 4 Evangelists.

The Cornish community needs to do everything it can to prevent trust being placed in AI Cornish. Otherwise what we will find one day is that we gave up our sovereignty somewhere along the line.

Anonymous writes on the dangers of outting our community's trust in AI, and particularly the threat of Super-fluent Cornish: a language under the thumb of the confused whims of the machine instead of people.

Can't find a #Kernewek word for "dill" (Anethum graveolens). Thought I'd strike it lucky looking in bible translations of Isaiah 28 "Dill is not threshed with a threshing sledge" in the #Cornish bible (Ysay 28) but it uses "fenogel" (fennel) instead as "dill" isn't consistently translated. #langsky

Guinevere Anhus; Unn Novel Berr gans Gwraghes

Picture this, it's 1643, you're fleeing from your witch trial, hoping to wash up somewhere far away, safe. Only to get spotted 'drowning' by the (rather attractive) nobleman's daughter, who 'must save you.'
