Some scenes from my solo #skate on the #RideauCanal today. The temperature was about -7°C with a windchill of -14. I skated end-to-end and back (incl Dow's Lake) for 15.6 km covered.
Northbound, mostly into the wind was 35 minutes and southbound was 27 minutes.

I personally don't #skate when it is snow covered as you can't see the cracks and bumps and that increases the accident potential greatly.

Today's #ski in #GatineauPark was my 16th of the #winter and was 10 km from P16 in the Meech Valley to Healey Cabin and back. I have now done 163 km this winter and still hoping to reach 200 km before it all melts.
Healey was deserted & cold today, I was there early.
