The box for the game Riddle of the Sphinx, which I thought was pretty good. It is a silver box - which comes through kind of grey in the scan - and has a number of colorful horizontal stripes. At the top is the Imagic logo (quite like the nintendo logo with a different font), below that is a thick red stripe with the game title in a vaguely Egyptian bold and round sans serif font, below that is a shorter orange stripe with "Video Game Cartridge For the ATARI Video Game System and Sears Video Arcade" in an italic sans serif font. A couple more decreasingly tall stripes in yellow, green, blue, and purple, and then we get the main image which is a mystical looking zoom-blurred photo of a sphinx in front of a digital graphic of some mountains, a deep red sun (or moon?), and a starry sky. There is a strip of multicolor heiroglyphics just below the mountains, as well. Below the main image is some more stripes that are actually trapezoids decreasing in height and width in red, orange, yellow, and green.

The banner from the arcade game Donkey Kong, which I thought was fine. On the left of the banner is Donkey Kong himself, a brown gorilla if you didn't know, running and flailing his arms. Just over his shoulder is a literally white-skinned woman with blond hair wearing a red top. She is in a circle kind of like peeking out of a hole and reaching a spindly arm to the right. On the far right is a crudely drawn Mario with hairy arms and chest wearing only red overalls, brown shoes, and his signature red hat. Just above him he seems to be dodging two barrels falling from the sky. The game name is at an angle in the middle of a white stripe in a circusy hand drawn very bold font with white and black outlines and stars in the middle of the O's. Bordering the white stripe are alternating stripes of orange and red that fill the rest of the banner except for a plain Nintendo logo just below the highest part of the game name.

Promo image for the game Lego Horizon Adventures, which I thought was fine. There's really a lot crammed in this image and all of it is made of digital representations of lego pieces. Trees, tall grass, desert, mountains, and rock outcroppings all appear around the edges or in the background. In the far background is a Thunderjaw which is a large robot dinosaur kind of like a T-Rex with a long articulated neck and weapons mounted to the sides. It is shooting downwards at two of the heroes being chased by a Watcher. A Watcher is a little robot dinosaur kind of like a T-Rex with one glowing eye and no weapons. The two heroes are Aloy and Varl. Varl is on the right and has dark lego skin, a short haircut, cool blue "tribal" makeup over one eye, a cape, and is holding a spear as if to throw it. Aloy is in the middle and has pale lego skin, long red braided hair, a glowing blue round lego on the side of her head, and has just fired an arrow from her bow which is flying through the sky. The title of the game appears at the top with the lego logo, Horizon in a sort of futuristic but hand-painted at the same time all caps sans serif font with extra lines connecting letters, and Adventures in an negative space font with thick white outline and slightly chaotic straight line only all caps letters.

I don't have time for a proper detailed alt text this morning, but this is the cover for the game FIFA Soccer 2004, which I thought was fine. This cover features Thierry Henry in the middle in an Arsenal jersey, Ronaldinho to the right in a Brazil jersey, and some white dude whose name I forget on the left in a jersey from a team from Italy, I think. Black and white stripes. The logo is in the middle, and some icons are at the bottom. The black PlayStation 2 banner is at the top.

The box cover for the game Basic Math, which I thought was not great. It is VERY 70's in appearance with a blue background and yellow font above the main image. The game title and "Game Program" appear at the top in retro spacey sans serif all caps font with "8 video games" and "table problems, random problems" in two columns below that and smaller font. At the very bottom in white tiny font is "A Warner Communications Company" and the Warner logo. The main image is of two school children dressed in all green, the one on the left female presenting in a long dress and kind of looking like an elf and the one on the right male presenting and wearing a kind of military top and bell bottoms. Both are ecstatic to be there and a rainbow bridges the gap between them. On their outfits, are two basic math problems 3/3=1 and 21x36=756 written in the American format. The left kid is admiring what appears to be a dove flying overhead and the right kid is catching a butterfly in a net. The bird has 4x44 on it, the butterfly has the basic operations and the net has 8+6=14. In between them in a bronze bordered square are the four basic operations again and below that there is a three headed dragon, a frog with many fingers, and a seated child with long hair and green pajamas with a ten-fingered hand. Below that, are two very toothy whales maybe vomiting the ocean or drinking it and the ocean has three Koi-like fish and the problem 92-50=42. The Atari logo is in the bottom left and CX 2661 in the bottom right. The game has pretty much none of this image in it other than the math.

A promo image for the game Sword of the Sea, which I thought was pretty good. The image is of a character surfing on a sword with some fish flying behind it and a mountainous desert in the background. The title of the game is just over the desert scene in sand-like all caps subtle serif thin font with a drop shadow. A tall tower with a light on it is in the far background and the clouds in the sky are swirling around that tower. The greenish ocean is very transparent and you can see a little bit of coral but still the small red and white fish are flying through the sky behind the character surfing. They are surfing on a very narrow board that is actually a magic sword with intricate designs on it. They are wearing a flowy outfit in shades of blue and a gold helmet and appear to be going real fast as a blaze of blue light streams out behind the sword board.

It is a classic Star Wars image with the left side being a dark side image in reddish brown of the battle of Geonosis and the right side being a light side image in bluish white of the battle of Hoth. In the middle is a triangle of lego versions of Star Wars characters just like in the move posters. In this case, Rey is leading the bottom row with a yellow lightsaber flanked by Finn and BB-8 on the left and Chewbacca and Kylo Ren on the right. Just above them, a larger Jedi Luke Skywalker is in black and making a grimacing face while holding his green lightsaber. Above Luke is an even larger Darth Vader doing the force choke pose and holding his red lightsaber at his side. Above all of this The Lego logo appears next to the Star Wars logo and below that, in the same font as the start of The Force Awakens, it reads "The Skywalker Saga." To the right of the game title is a lego Death star with a number of tie fighters streaming out of it towards a swooping Millennium Falcon. The box cover for the game Dragonstomper, which I thought was pretty good. At the top is the game title in a red to yellow gradient color, underlined, and in an all caps calligraphic font with a gold outline. The S is enlarged and the bottom part curls in on itself like a dragon tail. The main image is below this and is a side profile of a knight against a dark, partly cloudy and starry sky. The knight is wearing golden armor with distinctly dragon-like features like wing protruding off the side of the helmet, teeth on the helmet opening, and scales on the shoulders. The armor is ornate with a number of swirly designs and the face sticking out of it is very dark skinned with orange glowing eyes, maybe part dragon? The box cover for the game Pokémon Stadium 2, which I thought was not great. It is a colorful box cover with a red banner on the right side sort of peeled down to reveal a yellow background with the N64 logo and "Only For" on the peeled down part. A N64 Transfer Pak logo below that, a four-controller logo below that, and the ESRB rating of E at the bottom right. The bottom left has the Dolby Surround sound logo and the bottom of the main image says "Links to Game Boy Pokemon Gold, Silver, Yellow, Blue, and Red!" in all caps sans serif font. The main image is of two 90's computer graphic generated pokemon. The pocket monster on the right is an all blue flying dragon with a pointy head and the one on the left is a multicolored phoenix-like bird with long feathers on the top of its head. The title for the game appears above the two pokemon (whose names I can't remember) with Pokemon in the classic pokemon chaotic cartoony font with the vowels being smaller than the consonants, stadium is in an all caps serif athletic font but distorted to have the top and bottom of the letters be curved, and the 2 is in a metallic oval with blue border.
