This cholla produces a goregous, bright yellow flower (Usually in May, not end of March/early April). Peach colored hints surround the other flower petals.
Male Gambel's quail (with the curved feather from his forehead pointing down toward his beak) perches on top of a branch. I always wonder how they can see with that dingle-bopper in the way! Background pale yellow from palo verde blooms, and in top right, off-focus is a train trestle's crisscrosses.
