Introduction to Python for Simple Behavioral Experimentation This course introduces beginners to Python programming and the basics of creating simple behavioral experiments used in cognitive science, such as reaction time, decision-making, and memory tasks.

Last semester I taught a Python course titled "Introduction to Python for Simple Behavioral Experimentation" at @unipotsdam.bsky.social. Course is completely open sourced :)!

Urgency and importance aren’t the same thing.
If you don’t deal with them intentionally, urgent things will fill and take over your life.
If you deal with them intentionally, important things will build your life.

Stop Living on Autopilot: The Secret Manual to Upgrade Your Brain 🧠 Stop Living on Autopilot: The Secret Architecture of High-Level Thinking Ever feel like your brain is running on an outdated operating system? 💾 Most people spend their entire lives reacting to the world, trapped in a cycle of impulsive decisions and mental fog. But what if you could hack your own consciousness to see the hidden patterns of reality? In this episode, we are stripping away the fluff to reveal the controversial truth: intelligence isn't fixed—it’s a system. We’re diving deep into the art of metacognition—the elite secret weapon used by world-class thinkers to observe their own thoughts and break free from the "mental autopilot." From the logic of First Principles Thinking to the strategic simplicity of Occam’s Razor, we provide the manual for mental self-mastery that school never gave you. 🚀 In this episode, you’ll discover: - 🔍 The Metacognitive Shift: How to move from passive reacting to intentional, strategic living. - ⚖️ Decision-Making Filters: Why probabilistic reasoning is the only way to navigate an uncertain world. - 📚 Learning Optimization: Stop wasting time! Master spaced repetition and active retrieval to lock in knowledge for life. - 🧘 Emotional Regulation: The power of "labeling" to neutralize conflict and maintain your composure under fire. - ⚡ Mental Models: How to use cognitive frameworks to solve complex problems with terrifying efficiency. Whether you’re looking to dominate your career, improve your interpersonal communication, or simply stop being a victim of your own biases, this episode is your blueprint. It’s time to stop thinking harder and start thinking better. 🛠️ 🔥 Ready to upgrade your mental software? If you found value in these frameworks, subscribe now and leave a 5-star review! I just published a small deterministic demo for a bounded weak-signal routing pattern:

Notice → Interpret → Shape → Govern

Weak cues should matter without instantly becoming truth, memory, or action.

Externalizing isn't a crutch. It's how cognition is designed to work. The mind extends into tools, notes, and systems.

Main idea: interactional cues can be treated more like weak physical signals.

Not magic. Not mind reading.

Just bounded representation, local comparison, provisional interpretation, and governed escalation before persistence or authority changes.

Hello to the world and the ppl living in it.
It's been quite a while since I opened an account here, so I have come-up with quite a plan to decode my situation.
I am going to start a 100 day series of: "Learning me, Learning the World".
So, Good luck to me🍀.

The Classroom Lie Series: Learning Styles If you, like me, attended a traditional education school prior to starting your career in education, you probably spent at least a little time learning about the concept of learning styles. You might recognize the terms visual, auditory, linguistic, or kinesthetic. You may also have been asked to design lessons with different learning styles embedded. If you were like me, you may have even had a poster of the different learning styles in your classroom.

Nearly 90% of teachers believe in learning styles. The research says otherwise. Time to close the gap. 🧠 #ScienceOfReading #EdResearch #CognitiveScience #CogSci #TeacherPD #TheClassroomLie

When schools ask students to figure things out on their own, they're asking them to build on a foundation that disappears instantly.

Research proves there's a better way.

To be clear, I’m not saying that well-read, cultured people will automatically behave more wisely. Reading and culture are tools for the mind. Like any tool, their value depends on whether we choose to use them well. #Reading #Fiction #CognitiveScience #CriticalThinking #Books #Literature
