🐦 I put out my little hummingbird feeder yesterday afternoon and no birds yet, lol.
April 1st in my area, so Im 5 days late. Last year, it wasn't until may whenever I got it, and I got birds about an hour after putting it up.

A tiny hummingbird trying to look big and tough: it has a long pointy bill, a black chin that has blue and purple iridescence at its bottom edge. Below the chin is a white "collar" and light gray belly. It has tiny spidery feet grasping a slender branch, perched but with wings somewhat out, its shoulders puffed out and its head hunched over leaning forward. Behind the bird is blurry foliage.

I believe this is a female Costa's hummingbird perched on a branch of a citrus tree. She is stretching her wings and tail. Her face is gray with black between the beak and eye. Her wings are dark gray with some green, and her back is green with white on the sides. Her center tail feathers are green and feathers on the end are black with white tips. In the background are brown branches, green leaves, and whit patches of sky.
