Day 2 on the @westhighlandway.bsky.social took us to Rowadennan #yha. The #hike was long with a strong NW wind and lots of ups and downs but (I) Conic hill gave great views and along side Loch Lomond was lovely in the birch forest. #westhighlandway

Through the leafless, wintery trees can be seen the slopes of Y Gyrn, standing at 619 metres, obscuring Pen Y Fan to the east, the highest hill in the Brecon Beacons.

Om deze trip betaalbaar te houden slaap ik in de dorm rooms van de #YHA. Beetje wennen, je slaapkamer delen met vreemden, maar 35 euro voor een bed is onverslaanbaar en na een dag hiken ben je zo moe dat slapen sowieso wel lukt, en youth hostels liggen op de mooiste afgelegen plekken… #LakeDistrict
Old brick 2 story cottage with tiled roof. Originally 2 cottages, the ground floor shared wall was removed, creating a large kitchen/dining/recreation room.
Hindhead YHA Devil's Punchbowl in UK 2010
No electricity, running water or sewer, nearest parking 750mtrs up the hill.
I spent a summer as its warden when in my teens. Two bedrooms sleeping 8 in each room. Generally seperated M/F
It closed in 2012 I think.

11/12 #YHA #Walpole to #FernbrookFalls... was supposed to be another hut, still closed to prescribed 🔥 Told diff though 🤨 Heading north back to #Perth. Day started humid with flies, then ☀️ hot with #spiders in my face on the single track trail 🕷️🕸️🤬 #bicycle 🇦🇺 ☀️

09/12 #Wildcamping spot amongst the #TingleTrees to #Walpole #YHA... on the #bicycle 🚵 by 7. It's going to be a hot one ☀️ Only a 29km day, 20kms of the hilliest #trail, EVER 😜 ⛰️ Once on the flat my legs felt like cycling in treacle ⛔ Now a 👸 at YHA for a day 😂 🇦🇺
04/12 #Walpole #YHA to #BoonerMunbak hut... leaving a damp morning in Walpole. Bit of tar road 🛣️ before turning northwards. Then it really got 🌧️ Then later a bit of 🌥️ 😋 But evening back to 🌧️ 🙈 Brill 😀 Toes look like prunes! 53km... big day🤣 #wildcamping 🏕️ 🇦🇺
