A woman with her arms slightly outstretched wandering in deep, darkened, leafy shade next to & in a mountain stream. She's stepped into the bright sunlight in her tattered dress. Her head is tipped downward as if in the inspection of her brightened hand... Image is done in grayscale. It was one of my/our last done just prior to my cancer surgery.
In the bright sunlight of my/our house a friend is sitting side-saddle semi-nude with a huge, beautiful darkly feathered wreath over her shoulders, covering her body & emphasizing her beautifully masked face. Her eyes are directly at you from within the jeweled & ornamented mask. Image/portrait is in grayscale.
In a VERY black, heavy felt, hooded cloak- a woman is looking downward towards you. (She's my wife.) Her face & skin are very pale by means of a filter on the camera lens, polarizer. This filter also gives greater light to some of her very long, straightened auburn-red hair. The filter also renders the dark sky behind her as very nearly as black as is the cloak that she's looking out from. Her face is emotionless; her eyes are very direct upon you. The image/portrait is in grayscale.
A woman in a very dark, chiaroscuro setting, has an uniquely beautiful face partly lit by a bright flame upon a darkened candlestick that she is holding. It's flame is bent away from her face because she is blowing at it in order to extinguish its solitary light. Her holding hands/fingers are barely visible, as also is her chest that's ornamented by a shiny silver medallion on a silver chain. It's part of a series of studies in grayscale, called "Wish".
